President Proposes $6B for HOME STAR in his Budget Request!

"The Administration continues to call on the Congress to pass the HomeStar bill, or other mandatory funding legislation aimed at creating jobs by encouraging Americans to invest in energy saving home improvements."

In his $3.8 trillion budget for 2013, President Obama called Monday for $6 billion to expand home energy retrofits and $1 billion to promote electrical vehicles and build manufacturing innovation institutes.

Not that anyone expects congress to pass Home Star this session, it is great to see it stay on the agenda.  Between Home Star, the 25E tax credit, and other initiatives, there is plenty of hope out there for smart policies to save energy and create jobs in the future.  We sure need it!
